Where is my file processed?
On our server (see badge). Encrypted in transit, deleted within 1 hour. No third-party AI provider is involved — detection is pure pattern matching.
Is the redaction permanent?
Yes. We draw an opaque black rectangle over the text and then flatten the page, so the covered words are not recoverable by copy/paste or text extraction.
What does it detect?
US Social Security numbers, email addresses, US and international phone numbers, common date formats, and credit-card numbers (validated with the Luhn checksum to cut false positives).
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
It needs a text layer. For image-only scans, run our OCR PDF tool first, then come back.
What is the max file size?
200 MB per upload.
